•    The PNHRS National Unified Health Research Agenda (NUHRA) provides directions and specific areas and topics where research investments should be made to address pressing health problems/needs of the country, thereby ensuring health and productivity of  the Filipinos, and contribute to national development.  The NUHRA, a product of regional, zonal and national level consultations with various stakeholders, is in line with global and national initiatives influencing the health sector.

•   The NUHRA 2006-2010 was updated into NUHRA 2008-2010 to account for recent developments, new directions and thrusts of concerned agencies, and other health related initiatives. The updating provided the opportunity to refocus research priorities to better address existing health problems, emerging gaps, and new challenges.

•    The PNHRS will provide funding assistance for research proposals that address the priority topics under the updated NUHRA 2008-2010. The research grant is primarily intended for the short listed priority topics of the NUHRA.

•    The PNHRS will also provide financial support for research proposals addressing the RURHA.  The RURHA focus on health problems and concerns that are unique to each of the country’s region.
•    The RUHRA document can be downloaded from the PCHRD website www.pchrd.dost.gov.ph. Or you can contact the Regional Health Research and Development Committee in your area for an updated version of the RUHRA.

Funding source

•    The PNHRS fund assistance for research will come from the PCHRD-DOST, DOH and CHED.

Application

•    Researchers are required to submit a research proposal using the prescribed format.
•    Approval for a research grant will be based on a review process.

•    Research proposals can be submitted online.

ONLINE SUBMISSION

•    Proposals should be endorsed by the concerned RHRDC.
•    Deadline for submission of proposals: end of September 2009
