Page 1 of 5 Stakeholders and regional representatives from all parts of the country met anew last 12-14 August 2009 to celebrate the 3rd Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week at the Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City.
Highlights of the three-day celebration included a Mindanao Forum on Health Research, six parallel capacity building sessions, Young Researchers' Poster Exhibit Contest, a plenary session on Capacitating and Empowering Regional Health Research Systems, and awarding of the 2009 PNHRS Best Mentor in Health Research .
Dr. Paulyn Jean Rossel-Ubial, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH) and Prof. Fortunato T. Dela Peña, Undersecretary for Science and Technology Services of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), were keynote speakers in the Mindanao Forum and PNHRS Week’s Plenary, respectively.
